U.S. Food service located in Ormond Beach Florida will be closing their doors. Not to worry its not bad news its great news for Port Orange Florida.  The food distribution center is expanding and moving to Port Orange Florida.  While the Ormond Beach location will close, the 300 + employees will move to Port Orange and U.S. Food service is looking to expand and increase the number of employees to 500. That's great news and its a reminder the growth taking place in Port Orange Florida.

The new location is located at 5425 S. Williamson Blvd. in Port Orange Florida and should be completed by July 2011. U.S. Food service plans to expand to a building that well over 409,000 square feet increasing the space to nearly 60%.

Right now U.S. foods serves close to 5,000 heathcare facilities, schools, restaurants, government agencies throughout the state of Florida, Georgia and Alabama.

“Our business is growing, and we need more space to serve customers,” said Pat Kelly, president of U.S. Food service-Port Orange. “The expanded facility will enable us to respond more efficiently to our customers’ needs while serving a growing market from a strategically located distribution center.” according to the Orlando Business Journal.
